Daddy's Girl

My daddy knows me best, that's for sure.  He brought me my old flamingo shirt from the 80's and a new DVD to watch after my finals are over with.  What a treat to look forward to!

Just a Note

I got this notebook at Anthropologie the other day while on an adventure with my roommie. It's become my spiritual journal, used to write down all things that make me happy, that make me sad, that make me laugh, that make me cry, and that remind me that God really is there, even in those times where I feel like He's not.  This, along with my Bible, never leaves my bag!

Last Concert of the Year

After all year of sitting through University Band, we've finally reached our end of the year concert! It's hard to believe that my freshman year of college is already over! We're going through life so quickly and we've come so far from what we all once were.  As challenging, physically, emotionally, and mentally, this year has been, it's only made us all stronger.  I can't imagine myself anywhere else other than UNCG, I can't imagine having any other best friends, or knowing that my family is right down the road from me at all times.  I am so blessed.

My brother and Daddy and I after the concert.
My mom had to work that afternoon :(
These guys (and Nate) are most likely going to be the only guys I need in my life.  They are my rocks and I'm so blessed to have them in my life.

God has blessed me with the most amazing best friend in the world.  I would be no where close to where I am without this boy. He's showed me God for the first time in months and gladly lets me sit in his room and cry when the struggles of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome set in. I love him dearly and will forever be grateful for his love and silly faces he makes to keep me happy.

Much like Nate, MB was a gift right from God.  She still claims me even when I'm being crazy and random.  I'm so blessed that I have this girl in my life to keep me company in the best of times and the worst of times.  She's my bestie and I love her forever!

The Result of Being Sick

This weekend was spent with Derek, Nate, and MB taking care of me due to a bad cold.  After Derek drove across town and treated me to a vanilla milkshake he left me in the hands of the two besties to be taken care of.  Apparently, unaware of the affects of cold medicine in my system we were up until 2:00 in the morning laughing hysterically at the ridiculous things that I was saying.  Laughing to the point where we started crying and Nate hit the "gut laugh" level, which is a very scary thing to hear.
Apparently I said things such as:
"I don't know if I should laugh or cry anymore"
"Multiplication... mk!"
"Please remember this because I know I won't remember this in the morning!"
"My cat peed on this pillow, but I washed it. Don't let me stray off topic."
"I don't hate you, I love you, I feel like an awful, awful, person! What's wrong with me?"

And now for my favorite thing said that night:
"I don't care what kind of medicine you're on for PCOS, or how crazy your hormones might get, please stay on this cold medicine! You're hilarious and I wish you could share it with me!" -Nate

my life. it's amazing.

Who's the Cutest?

Here's your next assignment:
1.) go to the google main page
2.) type in "who is the cutest?" in the search engine
3.) hit the I'm feeling lucky button
4.) smile to yourself, because you know it's true :)

Daughter of God

Thought I'd share an image that was posted by my fellow blogger Dandee.
And how very true this quote is.

Noodle Night!!

We have just been on a cooking splurge these past few days! Once again Nate has graced us with some amazing pasta and we've all gathered again for some good Christian bonding, life talks, and sing alongs in the dorm kitchen.

The boys are back again :)

MB went to see Wicked earlier and had us all singing the soundtrack

Open Road Views

We drove across town last Friday night to find a McDonalds for vanilla milkshakes, and this is what God surprised us with :)

Everything's Coming Up Roses

My mom grows the most amazing roses I've ever seen and has spoiled me with vases of them for my dorm room, spring is just lovely!!

Swing Life Away

There's nothing quite like old fashioned swings on a spring night

Sunny Sunday's

We love taking our company to church with us on Sunday's.  This past Sunday we took my friend Toby with us and had a wonderful time as always at Lawndale.  Our church is so loving and full of God's love, we're so blessed to be able to have such an amazing church to grow in our faith at!

Bassooner or Later

My fabulous bassoon studio makes my life such a wonderful place!

We may not be Julie or Julia but we sure do love to cook! College life includes caf food but every once and awhile we willingly break free for a trip to Wal-mart and Target and stock up on ingredients for a fabulous feast!

Nate making the Goulash

Toby and I serving as the kitchen helpers and bread makers

Mary-Beth making the amazing haystacks that lasted us all weekend :D

of course we all know it's safe to goof off in the kitchen...

Quiet Time

I spend my quiet time in random places outside, by the fountain, on a rock in the middle of the creek, in a random field, on a playground, anywhere that I feel God is leading me to.  I guess it doesn't matter where we praise Him, as long as we do indeed praise Our Father!

what I'm currently reading:
2 Corinthians,
it holds a whole lot of wisdom in that one book.

If It's Not Too Late For Coffee

why hello there, Frank :)

Ally To The Rescue

Yesterday was a pretty bad day but because Ally has super awesome best friend sensors she knew something was up and she called and asked if I wanted to go shopping and get dinner with her and her mom.  What perfect time she has, or more like, what perfect time God has for putting her there just when I needed her most. :)

Better Dead Than Red...?

If Nate had his way, we'd all be red.

Lent if Finally Over

So lent has come to an end and as much as I enjoyed giving up red meat for my Jesus, I'm still rather happy to be able to eat a good burger again!! So as a treat that I survived lent, Ash, Taylor Ann, and I, all went to Five Guys for dinner. And let me tell you, you haven't lived until you've had one of their burgers!

Let The River Run

Being the adventure seekers we are, Mary-Beth, Nate, and I found ourselves wading our feet in the water of the creek that runs behind the music building last Wednesday.  Three hours spent with my best friends with not a care in the world.  God is so good!
